COTUIT FIRE DISTRICT, WATER DEPARTMENT
BOARD OF WATER COMMISSIONERS HAS
REMOVED THE VOLUNTARY WATER RESTRICTION
AS CONDITIONS HAVE IMPROVED.
A special meeting of the Board of Water Commissioners was held at the office at 3 PM with all members present, except Mr. Calise. Superintendent Chris Wiseman, Dan Gallagher, the rep. for Open Cape Fiber Optics and Sean O’Brien, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for Barnstable County were also present.
The Open Cape Fiber Optics proposal was discussed at length.
Mr. Barnicle made a motion to enter into a license agreement with Open Cape Corp. to install antennas on the Santuit tank to assist with the 700 MHZ public safety communications system. Mr. Kiely seconded the motion and it was so voted.
The meeting adjourned at 4:15 pm..

The monthly meeting of the Board of Water Commissioners was held at the office at 5 PM with all members present. Superintendent Chris Wiseman was also present.
The July minutes were approved.
The warrants were signed.
July coliform and MTBE results were “0.”
The following information was included in the Superintendent’s report:
PUMPAGE
July Pumpage 2012- 36,019,000 2011 – 34,928,000
…………Guard rails will be installed along the newly paved well roadway within the next couple of weeks.
…………The bid opening for the transmission main extension from Rte. 28 to the Newtown road storage tank will be held on 8/22/12 at 2:00 pm.
……………The Water Management Act Permit was submitted to DEP on 8/9/12.
……………Weston & Sampson has prepared the draft of the de-commissioning of the Main Street storage tank.
Personnel policy revisions were reviewed. Mr. Barnicle made a motion to have Warren Rutherford, of The Executive Suites, review the drug and alcohol section of the Town of Barnstable’s policy and offer an opinion about its inclusion in our policy to the Board. Mr. Calise seconded the motion and it was so voted.
The Board is still waiting to hear from the Town attorney’s office with the closing date for the 671 Main Street project.
Discussion continued on Open Cape’s proposed fiber optics project. The Board asked Mr. Wiseman to set up a special meeting with Dan Gallagher, the Open Cape representative and Sean O’Brien, the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for Barnstable County as soon as possible.
The 2012 lien list was signed by the Board.
Discussion was held on the repainting project for the West Street tank.
